Variety Of Materials

Printing Portal has the largest fleet of MJF machines in the UK - not only does this enable us to have a large throughput it also provides the scope for a broader range of materials.

Our standard material for MJF is Nylon PA12. It is an excellent, lower cost material which is proven to be incredibly durable and capable to replacing a number of thermoplastic materials used in the Injection Moulding process.

Nylon PA11 is another material in the polyamide family with slightly different attributes to PA12. It is a synthetic material (from vegetable castor oil). It has excellent chemical resistance and enhanced elongation-at-break.

TPU is Thermoplastic Polyurethane Powder which has excellent properties for strong, durable and flexible parts. The surface finish when Vapour Smoothed almost looks like an injection moulded part, with the added benefit of creating complex geometries using the MJF process. This combination means that we have one of the largest throughputs of TPU parts for custom applications in the world.
